The only issue with taking a position in a stock, based on milestones is that you never know how early the market is going to take its position, in anticipation. e.g. if i was a large investor (be it a fund manager of just a large private investor) and i knew two key milestones were due around Feb/March, i certainly wouldn't be waiting until then (or even Jan) to get active. More likely, i'd start a slow and steady accumulation, several months out. This would have the benefit of ensuring i don't miss out on getting my fill and also reduce my average price. Thinking you can simply accumulate at a relatively low price come late Jan seems a risky strategy in its own right imho.
Just my thoughts. Others may see it differently.
