Would benefit Aus a lot IMO as long as prices follow wages. Those in debt (like the government) would complain of course.
10% would be too little also.
At least we could then compete in many more endeavours, no more squealing about "keeping cheap imports out", we will have real free trade, buying and selling. Imagine being able to buy fruit according to your taste (some prefer sweeter fruit others not) as fruit actually taste different depending on where / how grown IMO.
Lots of other reasons as well such as how does a $16 an hour person compete with these "nose in the trough" people we hear about who are driving up inflation artificially.
