I just came back from the beach and sure your post.
If you get a div from another company that is paid into your bank account they have your details.
However if you go onto Computershare there is a part that you update your bank account along with your tax file number and your address.
I will give you what happen to me as for not filling out forms. Stop reading now as it has nothing to do with AHZ and was when I 1st got started on the share market but also not as a trader.
I went into the sydney airport float. The deal was pay 1/2 now then 1 year later paid the rest.
But I didnt have a trading account a i purchase on the float,CHESS.
Now I worked away at the time and never really paid that much attention to anything at the time. Well 2 years later when I took an interest in the market and Mac Airports had near double in price and had paid 2 divy. I rang mac airports to find out where my divs were, as I had not had a payment at all. Being that I never change to them my details and didnt bother about it at until then. I found out that they did not take the other part of my money to own the shares. So they say that they did try and contact me albeit not with the right details.
So here I am today have not ever got any div payment, or do they even show that I hold any shares, But I do as they took my money at the start no questions asked at the time other than what was asked on the pro at the time.
Now most will think that I have been robbed but IT WAS UP TO ME TO LET THEM KNOW MY DETAILS, as they dont care.
I did find out that they did auction my shares off and I am still fighting them now. Now for the big bit I am out of pocket including divs over $70k. Yes I have the same phone number and they could have contacted me that way, it was the change of address which I didnt give them or did I think I did MAKES IT MY FAULT. There is a lesson there for all KEEP YOU DETAILS UP TO DATE, as if you dont it may bite you hard.
Again the matter is not over and I am seeking to get SOME money back, AGAIN IT WAS MY FAULT NOT THERE"S, So if you think that its not there look harder because it is. NOTE I AM NOT BAGGING SYD as IMO is an OK coy.
But It was my fault and I dont blame then as rules are rules, hopefully they will see that a simple mistake by me will end up that I get paid one day, I hope this doesn't get modded as this is not me having a go at SDY it just to show if you dont keep things up to date they can really hurt you, and yes I do feel like a fool.
