The news and views on coal prices do vary a great deal. The likes of BHP and RIO have a bigger clout than most and should achieve bigger prices than the small company on the block.
PCI coal is expected to drop by around 8% in the coming agreement, thermal by 12% and semi-soft coking by 20%.
There are a few who expect PCI to hold its agreed price and the thermal to drop up to 4%. Semi-soft coking is expected to fall after a very big rise, but not as much as some predict.
