I fully respect your right to maintain the confidentiality of any of your discussions with any company director or management. That is your prerogative. I too maintain confidentiality in some instances. Thankfully, other posters are prepared to be more generous and report back either telephone responses or email responses, and for that I am grateful. Long may they continue to do so.

In most cases I believe that NO confidentiality is being breached and therefore any approval to pass on general comments is NOT required. However, I would be concerned if any information "of a material nature" was divulged over the phone or by email. Obviously, sensitive information should only be released via the appropriate announcements. However, small snippets of information regarding the progress of certain projects, the general feeling of the personnel at the coal face and responses to general enquiries can be very helpful in determining one's investment strategies. Over the years I have never had a call to any company (as a legitimate shareholder) not receive some response. Talking to directors is a vital tool in my decision making. For me it is all part of the research process. Whether I share my research on HC, as you quite rightly allude to, is up to me. However, since the information has been given freely I do not believe that reporting the gist of any conversation is a breach of confidentiality that required "permission" from the provider.

Having said that, I am critically aware that some posts purporting to relay sensitive information gleaned from a phone call are likely to be merely a case of ramping by the poster. When information is of a benign nature and vaguely outlines a predicted timetable for future drilling (in this case 3-4 weeks) I have no problem in accepting the veracity of such a post. If the company were to send an announcement to the ASX every time they estimated such forecasts they would get a curt response asking them to refrain from putting out inconsequential trivia, and the ASX certainly would not publish those announcements. They have very strict guidelines.

So it is important to DYOR and ask the company where it is at. If you feel generous enough to share any response with other members on HC then so be it.

What is objectional is the way that some people post their own insecurities about how events are unfolding, without a shred of evidence to support their fears. It smacks of downramping and has no place on the forum. "Discussion" does not mean the invention of possible negative scenarios without providing supporting evidence. After all, taking speculative negativity to its logical conclusion could lead us all to believe that everything we do is pointless because the world "could" end tomorrow! Those people who entertain such nihilistic thoughts should not be anywhere near the share market. They should "Eat, drink and be merry.....".

It is a very confusing process evaluating the "worth" of a company - especially when estimating the potential value of yet undiscovered minerals! There are aspects of geology, petrology, location and possible mine viability, all to be considered before a single bucket of the resource has been removed for commercial processing. Then you have to consider management's ability, market forces and investor sentiment. Matsa has a long road ahead of it but one that looks very promising to the discerning speculator, all things considered. That long road will not be easy and is made even more difficult by the waters being muddied by negative, invented speculation from people who have their own agendas. You have supported the company by purchasing shares, why would you be so unsupportive by publicly denouncing their efforts, without providing credible evidence to support your negativity?

Anyway, I'll step down from my soapbox now. GLTAH and DYOR.
