The above represents investors buying the physical GOLD from the GLD. If it wasn't buying, the GLD gold stocks wouldn't be dropping and it has always been that way. If the GLD stocks fall people are buying physical.
You may be talking about buying and selling the shares which is paper. No guess as to where the physical is going.

GOLD falling at the moment is good for me as I sold and took profit from my Goldie.
