Racing Victoria compiles a daily report called 'Werribee tracknotes' and here are the comments on the work undertaken on Wednesday by the internationals that remain in contention for a Melbourne Cup start.

DUNADEN : Walked a lap then a slow canter from the mile. Was led off by Havana Gold. Maintained about a three-quarter pace to the line but kept about eight lengths off the miler's heels. Jockey Jamie Spencer, who rode the work, said that Dunaden is still one of the best talents in France if not for the emergence of Treve.

RED CADEAUX : A canter over a mile on Thursday at half pace steady to the line. Trainer Ed Dunlop has arrived at Werribee and this experienced traveller will do some faster work on Friday.

VOLEUSE DE COUERS : A slow canter over 1400 metres then including work over two-mile. Mike Moroney is similarly pleased with the horse's progress.

TRES BLUE : Tommy Berry rode work again on Thursday. Walked a lap and cantered off from the mile with a slow canter of another lap.

BROWN PANTHER : A canter over a mile on Thursday. Trainer Tom Dascombe seems content with where the horse is currently at and is hoping the best horse in his stable can fire at the right time.

DANDINO: Walked a lap of the track on Thursday then cantered about 1400 metres. Worked nicely to the line and he is progressing well.

VEREMA : Trainer Alain de Royer Dupre made a brief appearance at Werribee to watch Verema in action where she cantered down the straight and half pace from the mile-marker with an easy canter down the straight.

MOUNT ATHOS : After the faster work session on Wednesday he just walked around the yard and back into the barn for Luca Cumani.

SIMENON : Walked and trotted a lap on Thursday then cantered a couple more laps, three-quarter pace to the line.

ROYAL EMPIRE : Just a light canter around the track today. Kerrin McEvoy seems satisfied with him having ridden most of his work this week.
