George Bush called the GFC bad luck, others blamed it squarely on greedy wall street sharks and a complacent and incompetent Govt and clowns running the Fed!
You can throw all the dirt you want at Labor, but they managed the GFC better than Tony Rabbit would of!
Howard was lucky to have the massive mining boom receipts from China, simple as that....
He didn't do anything special otherwise, certainly didn't invest in infrastructure with that massive windfall. Was too busy giving it away in middle class welfare like baby bonuses etc.
