And lost in the applause for our marvellous court system is the fact that the people of NSW who through the Crown & State Govt own mineral rights - have had their assets impaired and the economic foundation of NSW is a little weaker. I wonder if it would be in the best interests of everybody in NSW if gas exploration in certain zones was conducted by the Govt - as coal exploration often has been - then they could have an auction process or set up a State Owned gas supply Co, whatever. After any damaging issues with landowners and residents was resolved.
