project eis gets go ahead

BANDANNA Energy's Springsure Creek Project is one step closer to being underway, after the Queensland Government approved the Environmental Impact Statement for the project.

Managing Director Michael Gray welcomed the release of the EIS Assessment Report and said it represented a major milestone.

"This decision takes us another step closer to final approval for our Springsure Creek project," he said.

"The project is one of the few current mining projects in Queensland that is ready to proceed in the immediate future given it has access to existing rail and port capacity."

The approval of the EIS paired with the timing of Commonwealth environmental approvals, ensured the project will remain on track for a mid-2015 start date if all other approvals are granted and funding is gained.
