the miner and the farmer should be friends

I was looking for a situation where the community and the Farmer and Miner go about their business without any Environmental impact at all. The closest I can determine is the town of Parkes in NSW which has a rich agricultural and mining history . They host an Open Cut mine, Northparkes Mine which is situated 27km from the thriving town of Parkes .NorthParkes commenced open cut operations Decemeber 1993 . A study team will now move their focus to options that extends the current mine life beyond 2030. Parkes has a rich agricultural and mining history . Mayor of Parkes Cr Ken Keith said he welcomed the decision.“It is a good move for Northparkes Mines to concentrate on extending the mine life , This will provide a very solid base for the Parkes Shire , Currently the mine contributes around 30% of the shire’s $1 billion gross regional product and we are pleased that this will continue,” the Mayor said.

The Council on the Yorke Peninsula will probably review their decision once that have more professional information as a reference as they are responsible for the community at large.
If Rex Minerals go about the Environmental issues like NorthParkes then their should be no real concerns for the future on the Yorke Peninsula.
Don't forget that the Yorke Peninsulahas been a Mining Province since 1874 and everything is still in A1 condition.
