You quote unlike Parmalat and Kirin there are no contracts.
There are dairy farmers with both Fonterra and MG who do have supply contracts way over the 1-2c a litre that you quote.
If Australia goes down the track of two entities controlling the supply of milk it will be the death of the industry.
The more there are competing for the supply of milk the better off the farmers will be, and many of the dormant dairy farms big and small will with a fair and equitable farm gate price be back into supplying.
The industry needs to be producing what the export markets require and not what they want to produce. The opportunities are out there.
