Presumably suds you were enquiring about our recently departed coo? If so are you at all surprised you get nothing back? Ibeaten had it beaten into me for years by hr and legal that if anyone calls to enquire about the status of employment or for a reference on any current or past employee then I must decline for risk of opening myself or the firm up to defamation action. Apparently a few high profile cases in the US a few years ago where people missed out on new employment offers because of statements made by the past employers and it got nasty caused this approached to be adopted across the financial services industry so it wouldn't at all surprise me if Segal knows when to keep his mouth shut for risk of having Harry's fist in it!
Any other subjects they are avoiding answering would warrant more investigations but the status of an employee isn't one IMO.
