Also, where does your sense of self-righteous indignation come from?

If God does not exist then all of your protestations (well, excuses, let's be honest)MUST be preceded with "in my opinion" or words to that effect because that's all you have. You can't say that ANYTHING, God's action or anyone else's is ultimately WRONG. You can only say that something happened that you personally don't like. And that's OK, don't get wrong, you're entitled to your point of view. To quote your own sig.

"Remember that opinions are like arse-holes. Everyone's got one. (And everyone thinks everyone else's stinks)."

But merely exchanging opinions is ultimately meaningless because on your view there is no absolute morality in the universe so what's the point in anything really? The existential dilemma of Atheism is well known and discussed. Life without God is ultimately meaningless. The fact that you protest so hard tells me there is something going on internally that you refuse to see or admit to. Just saying.
