When it became apparent to the Libs during the election campaign that Sophie Mirabella was in deep trouble the face on campaign material was changed from Mirabella to Tony Abbott. Party heavyweights including Joe Hockey, Malcolm Turnbull and Greg Hunt were torpedoed in and also featured in advertising material.
Even though some eight letters were posted to voters one was a personal Indi version from none other than Abbott. Voters knew from Mirabella's wedding that Abbott was closely linked to her and that she often appeared in public with him.
The Liberal Party dismisses such realities at its own peril!
