It is ironic that Singapore has recently announced that it is going to make a big push into the medical pharmaceuticals world. They are already big investors but they will certainly be closely watched as regards ethical practices in the research and use of any drugs or devices that they come with. They may find that walking the tightrope between different peoples morals is a very difficult act to perform. Saving life on one hand and extinguishing it on the other may put them into an unusual position. No doubt the press will be ready to pounce on any contradictions that may occur.
