While the Bible does contain some poetic and mildly inspirational passages, (ignoring all the horrors) it fails totally as a book of scientific knowledge. A few examples. 1st Book of Kings gives a value for Pi of 3. Books of Numbers tells us that bats are birds. Jesus tells us that the smallest seeds are mustard seeds. The book was used as a tool by religious powers for their own empowerment and betterment. (sale of indulgences, terrorising the masses into obedience with threats of with hell etc). The Bible is a massive blight on the advancement of mankind. Call it literature if you wish, call it a part of our past. I call it a sad reminder of our faltering early steps towards an age of reason and enlightenment.
