No-one could sensibly argue that those reported salaries are pretty comfortable when compared with those for people on average earnings of about $65,000 pa.

Of course, the ABC staff are not 'average workers', they are in fact pretty special employees!

But how do they compare with those for people doing the same work in the private sector? How do they compare to what Murdoch and Co pays its shock jocks?

For that matter, how do they compare with the self-determined executive remuneration over which retail investors have virtually no influence?

Well last time I heard executive remuneration was running at 90 times average salaries paid to employees!

Given your comment about ABC salaries making you feel ill, do those in the private sector make you feel just a little queezy then?
