Court appearance over bomb hoax
December 05, 2005
A MAN charged over a series of bomb hoaxes that brought Brisbane's public transport system to a halt has made a brief court appearance.
Rodney Bruce Watson, 46, of Munruben south-west of Brisbane, has been charged with four counts of making a bomb threat, which caused peak-hour chaos to buses and trains on November 14.
Mr Watson, who has previously been denied bail, appeared in handcuffs in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today for a committal mention.
Magistrate Jim Gordon ordered Mr Watson's case be set down for another mention on January 30 next year.
Senior Sergeant Mark Gorton previously told the court that Mr Watson's fingerprints were found on three of four telephone boxes allegedly used to make the hoax calls.
