I'm 10,000% behind Japan on this issue. They were bastards in the 30's and 40's…but in recent decades I have nothing but admiration and respect for them. They do a very few things I dislike, hunt whales for example, but in general they are the kindest and most civilised people I've ever seen on this planet….and I've been all over this globe. Japan is magic to me and my family, lived there a few years when I was a kid, worked there briefly…holiday there when we can (usually to visit our son working there)….if I could get a resident visa I'd be flying out tomorrow….It's that good there. It is such a wonderful culture and full of lovely people who are generous and good-natured. If I could say how many times the Japanese have been helpful to us in our travels and living….hotcopper may need more megabytes on their server... China, on the other hand….a culture built on exploitation…and practises that 'talent' in nearly every facet of life….Not to say all Chinese are like that….we have many gifted and generous Australian Chinese here - I've run into many young Australians of Chinese background who are obviously home. Certainly many mellow Chinese in Singapore too. But I feel comfortable with that observation of the Chinese in general and their overseas armies/fifth-column in south-east asia and beyond. Stand up Japan….you have most of the world and a huge US military force there behind you!
