amazon vs netflix, page-45

I don't post here much (and I haven't bothered reading through all the bickering on this thread), so forgive me if this has been discussed already. I'm living in the UK temporarily and have been using Netflix and Lovefilm for the last 12 months.

Lovefilm is an Amazon company.

Looking through the timeline in this link one can draw a few comparisons and seeing the recent announcement made me wonder why Amazon would be a competitor when they could just aquire QFX like they did LOvefilm.

Early days I know but maybe something in it.

By the way while there isnt much between them I prefer Lovefilm to Netflix. Netflix tends to have the odd new release movie before Lovefilm but otherwise the platform and tv series on LF suits us. We only stream but i get the feeling LF is more popular here as it still offers DVD service.
