this is a fantastic announcement...spring hill now warrants some serious assessment.
100 m wide by 100 metres long by 100 metres deep give us about 1 million tonnes...at 5gms per tonne will give us about 175,000 ounces. This is 4 times what they were expecting to mine from this hole over the next 2-3 years.
100 metres is shallow and still has 4.1 gms per tonne....
Much cheaper to mine open pit at these shallow depths...with mineralisation at only 1 metre below surface - this I must say is actually starting to look very positive. I must commend the team for sticking to their guns on this, I would have already been in Dundas by now while possibly 250,000 ounces of gold sat within easy reach...
