- saved Australia from the SE Asian Economic Crisis;
- saved the East Timorese from the ongoing thuggery of the Indonesian military and para military;
- successfully reduced the throng of illegals barging through our doors to a trickle, which the grossly inept subsequent Labor Government rescinded, leading to over 40,000 welfare seekers barging their way through our porous borders;
- introduced Gun Control legislation in the immediate aftermath of the Port Arthur massacre, in spite of significant opposition from his own electorate;
- handled the Ansett debacle, in spite of endless wailing from over paid and under worked Ansett employees;
- gave assistance to those Aussies injured in the Bali Bombing, even though there were some people(Labor whimps), who tried to lay the blame at the feet of the Liberal Party;
etc etc
And what did Labor achieve when it was in power:
Eliminated the large surplus it inherited from the previous Federal Liberal Government, by taking a page out of the bible, and like JC's loaves and fishes story, turned a multi billion SURPLUS into a multi billion DEFICIT. Even JC couldn't beat that sort of miracle. And, of course, the biggest lie in Federal Australian political history, by a grossly incompetent, misanthrophist Federal Labor leader who declared, BEFORE Federal election, that 'There will never, ever, be a Carbon Tax under my Government'.
