I'd say they can't answer some/all of these questions without providing market sensitive information. Thus they will be unable to respond without also putting out an announcement.
This result would please me greatly, as I'd love to know the answers like the rest of us here...but on the flip side, if they are holding off on any announcements then they won't be answering your email in any useful detail.
Fingers crossed they go the former path rather than the later one!
