Gassin, no offence but this whole shorting conversation is getting very annoying.
With stocks like NDO, unless they have just had a major spike - the only people selling on the close are those who have to for trading reasons (T +1), (T + 3). Or of course with today's extraordinary trading.
Generally with T1 and T3 traders they have to sell their shares because they can't afford to actually pay for them.
If someone wants to jump the queue and buy those shares a pip cheaper then they match the offer, minus one share, to get the discount.
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but what is happening in the auction has got nothing to do with shorting.
