To those who think that I may be part of the Labor cheer squad, I have always been a conservative voter as I do not believe that a Labor/Socialist party as we have in Australia can ever properly represent the Australian voter until they totally cut their ties with the union movement which represent about 7 % of the people but who have such power in the Labor Party, about 70%?

But I am a realist and yes Howard lost government because he was arrogant and out of touch and his party should have told him to go. The LNP would have then won that election

The public have very short memories and no loyalty to a party or even a business in these days, so their votes will ebb and flow with the wind and the current TV news programs

Abbott must not emulate Labors mistakes or he will be thrown out either by his party or the public, he is not the most charismatic person in public life so will always have a problem getting his message across, this and the fact that he is too nice and proper could be his downfall

He doesn’t have to be a media tart as those before him were but he has to tell the voters what he is doing and what he has achieved
