History has proved, beyond any reasonable, that the Witless Spendethon Whitlam Government, and the fiscally stupid Kevin, Julia and then Kevin again, were almost on a par, if not worse. Probably worse as they were handed a multi billion dollar surplus, which they promptly threw at everybody like useless confetti (even those who were overseas!) and every project imaginable, regardless of its long term sustainability.
I't too early to tell if Tony is able to drag Australia out of the fiscal mire it has inherited from the grossly inept Labor Party.
