As someone who currently holds a small parcel in VMT and thinking about increasing my holding – one thing I would like to know is what the major selling points of an electric scooter are. The main ones I can think of are the fuel costs (or lack of). However we all know scooters can run off the smell of an oily rag and even if fuel prices were to triple, filling up the scooter tank moves from $5 to $15 – not exactly a significant jump. In my mind, the only reason I’d buy electric over a petrol engine is if its price was similar to a petrol model. I’m understand that is currently not the case.

The other thing to consider is the brand image. Obviously if they become some kind of “fad” (thinking particularly in China) then this could also help drive sales.
