Most of the leading evolutionist today have abondoned abiogenesis. The hard sciences and mathematic have pretty much killed it off. Evolutionists are treading water at the moment looking for another miracle, some super accellerant or some such thing that can challange the hard science on this matter.
But on the issue of philosophy the greatest search has been for the unity that eludes man in the diversity that we face on earth.
The early greek philosophers came up with the four states of Earth Fire Water Air, yet nothing that bound them together. The missing fifth component which we have termed quintessence.
It is interesting this unity in diversity has its presence in the first cause, the Godhead of the Father Son and Holy Spirit. It is reflected in the nature of the Triune God.
Many of the top Universities were founded by Christian thinkers, the word university is an amalagm of Unity and Diversity.
We see the reality of our earth and universe yet the 'quintessence' is found in the nature of the first cause.
