Hird stands head and shoulders above all the WC slaggers of the past. We are not so docile as to allow the AFL hierarchy, and its head honcho, make Hird the sacrificial lamb as compensation for its gross incompetence. The same honcho that, inspite of their multitude of gross misdeeds of the past, gave WCE such an easy ride.
PS I had great respect for Mainwaring as a player, but the club, and his 'mates' let him down.
