Hi Sarc
Granite is a relatively slowly cooled (coarse grained)igneous rock formed at depth in the earth's crust and basalt is a relatively quickly cooled (fine grained) igneous rock formed nearer the surface. So I figure granite might be older than basalt. But in continental shift theory sedimentary rocks get dragged down and become liquid magma again ... chicken & the egg lol?
