Long forgotten i imagine, but essentially it was not picked up by sundance and left as an oilfield for Talon

The understandings on the field, based on the Swift wells, which were drilled out of zone and incorrectly completed, gave the Texon shareholders no value to the field, and rather than just give it to Sundance, the oilfield remained with Talon

All i have been hearing is that the olmos is not considered eceonomic, swift wells was the reasoning, and the Talon acreages was due to have a proof of concept horizontal put in
at some stage in he future

ok.. so whats happened this year on the oil patch

on the boundary to Talons acreages is a swift well,

    San Miguel Ranch OL 6H

completed as a horizontal with 6000 foot horizontal completed in the A.W.P. Olmos

So after 7 months of production these are the numbers

    102,392 BO 113,394 mcf

So an easy $10 mill in oil in 7 months excluding gas

So whats the verdict on the field as far the market is concerned?

    ZERO value

"With over 3,800 acres, there is potential for 15 horizontal drill sites. The project fits Talon’s ongoing strategic focus being a scalable oil zone adjacent to existing fields with development optimised through horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing.

Talon is negotiating with potential joint venture partners to participate in the proof of concept Quintanilla 1H Olmos well which is currently planned for late Q1 or early Q2 2014, with a potential 15 well horizontal program on 120 acre spacing.

Based on nearby analog horizontal well performance, the gross resource potential is estimated to be 327 mboe/well. Talon’s net Olmos leasehold acreage is currently estimated to be over 3,800 acres."

i wouldnt mind betting that the current Swift well is not going to stop flowing in another 2 years, so the 327 mboe/well number may be so way under the cards.. its already done 110 mboe/well in 7 months!!!

i realise the massive board of Talon is basically dong nothing to promote the share, but regadless of their neglect.. dont underestimate this proven AWP olmos oil field in mcmullen county, just research it yourself and see what you come up with

i wouldnt mind seeing talon themselves mention this swift well and give the oil field some serious credibility

    all imho and dyor
