I can't let this one pass without a comment. 'Biggsie' became a sort of folk hero over time, inspired by his miraculous escape from detention and re-arrest, and, of course, his Brazilian girlfriend, the seemingly laid-back lifestyle and generally the thumbing of his nose at 'Authority'. He had a charismatic charm, too, altogether quite a potent mix. I was quite shocked when I saw the pictures of him when he finally returned to UK for medical treatment. He's front page news because people will want to know, and the press can have some fun dragging out the archive stuff - it's quite understandable. Where were YOU when the Great Train Robbery happened?
