My experience with AAR says good news is announced before market open and ordinary news is announced in a quarterly. :-P
We haven't had much "before market open" news for a very long time.
I'd like to say that situation is about to change but my cynicism and pessimism precludes me from doing so.
I'm such a ball of fun this time of year! :-P :-)
