" Not really, maybe "older people" have simply worked out that many of the changes have resulted in little if any improvement to their tech. needs."

I'm not saying that we need to buy each successive model of iphone ( I'm still packing a 4 ) but think about how technology has improved lives , particularly for the older generation .

The fact that you're reading this post is an example . How good is the internet ? People that can't get around can travel and communicate through the net . Grandparents can talk to their grandkids on the other side of the country very cheaply etc .

Remember hand written letters ? How about having to go to the library for information ? How quickly we forget .

Milo . You need to get with it a bit . It's easy and youtube is the classroom . Yes , a lot of technology is for convenience but I would put communication devices i.e. phones , into the lifesaving category for many reasons .

After all , in an emergency , how do you summon help ?
Even if you don't have a new phone it's probably a good idea to know how to use one .

P.S. And phones have really good camera's in them now :^)
