AUSTRALIA Post has asked the federal government for an increase of 10c a stamp next year as it seeks to limit growing losses from its letters business. The national postal service has warned that as electronic communications slash letter volumes, "it is no longer financially sustainable for Australia Post to continue holding letter prices at below inflationary levels".
