Before anyone believes in a child poverty rate of 1 in 6 in Australia they should first live in a country with real poverty for a minmum of twelve months, and see for themselves the difference between a statistical measure and real child poverty.
I've lived half my adult life in a country with a poverty over 30% of the population and believe me, the fat guy sitting on a street corner in Sydney with shoes on asking for change isn't the face of poverty today.
