Interesting response to an article in the Fairfax newspapers today:
http://www.smh.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/cabinet-papers-198687-negative-gearing-almost-axed-20131228-3011r.html
There is 206 comments, mostly from people who now understand negative gearing and housing affordability is the reason why our economy is starting to really falter. More Australians than ever before are learning their jobs and standard of living is on the line because of housing affordability eating vast amounts of discretionary spending and our wages now price Australia out of the international marketplace - everyone is closing.
Fairfax is now running a poll "Should the Abbott government look at abolishing negative gearing to help the budget bottom line?"
There is an overwhelming 74% of 2847 votes in support of abolishing negative gearing.
Looks like Abbott has a winner for the May Budget.
