    Can you see this?

    If not...

This is a REAL fix for the YouTube error messages. This problem was driving me crazy.
If while trying to watch videos on YouTube or when you try to change the resolution or switch to full screen view you keep getting error screens such as,
" An error occurred. Please try again later. "
" This video is currently unavailable. "
    " Undefined "
etc. then this will fix it.
    Works for PC or MAC.
For MAC, follow instructions for MAC in the link below.

If you can't see this video due to your videos not playing, first try pressing F5 (refresh) and see if the video will play. If not then go to the following link and follow the directions to change your DNS server addresses on your PC or MAC.
It's a Google web page and they rock for putting out public DNS servers for the whole world to use.

    https://developers.google.com/speed/p...

For how to change DNS in Windows 8 see here: (Make sure to change both IPv4 and IPv6 numbers as listed below.)
    http://openw3.com/how-to-change-dns-s...

For Windows XP Go to Control Panel,Network Connections and select your local network.
Click Properties, then select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Click Properties, Select "Use the following DNS server addresses" and enter the Google public IPv4 DNS server numbers (listed below) in the spaces provided and click OK.

If you can't access the above link for some reason, the DNS numbers are as follows:
    IPv4:
    8.8.8.8
    8.8.4.4

    IPv6:
    2001:4860:4860::8888
    2001:4860:4860::8844

You may only need to change the IPv4 settings, but in the future (and in some countries now) IPv6 is going to start going in to affect, so it's best to change both.

Other things to try if you're one of the FEW people this fix didn't work for.

Double check that you changed the DNS numbers correctly and make sure to click the "OK" buttons after you have entered the numbers.
If you use a router, you can change the DNS server numbers in there too. That should affect all devices connected to the router. I think you will find it's quicker and easier just changing the DNS at the PC. (My errors went away after changing just the PC, I eventually did the router too just to cover anything else hooked to the router.)

Some people have reported that if you have no speakers or headphones connected to your computer, or your sound is turned off, it will cause this error to happen as well.?
I have not verified this, but if the DNS fix didn't work for you, it sure would be worth a try, and simple to do.

If you have RealPlayer you may have to disable that too, although I would try that last since I don't think that has anything to do with this issue.

    To Disable RealPlayer.
    Launch RealPlayer.
Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper left corner of the window and choose Preferences.
Choose Download & Recording from the left hand panel.
Uncheck "Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browsers".
    Click OK and close RealPlayer.
NOTE: I completely removed RealPlayer from my PC but still had the YouTube errors until I changed the DNS servers as outlined above.
Make sure your browser is updated to the latest version.

Also, make sure you have the latest version of flash player.
Someone suggested to use an older version of flash player, version 9,x.xx , and that alone might solve the error problems but I have not verified that.

Slow internet speed can cause problems too. Do a speed test. http://speedtest.net If you are well below 10Mbps it may be to slow.
To get the full speed of your cable internet you will need a newer "DOCSIS 3.0" cable modem and router (if you're using a router).
I just upgraded both of mine and my speed went from 10Mbps to 50Mbps. That in itself made the error problems go away, but I still kept the new DNS numbers to make sure.(Changing to these DNS numbers fixed the error problem before I upgraded my cable modem and router, so if your speed is slow this fix should work even with the slower speed.)

Another YouTube user said that the "Turn off the lights" extension can cause this error, so you may have to disable or remove it to stop the errors if none of the above fixed it and you are running that extension. I don't have that extension so can't confirm the claim but have included it as a possible thing to check.

If this worked for you and you want to thank me, just click on the ads in any of my videos, it helps me to keep making these videos.
Almost all my videos have an ad that comes on near the bottom of the video viewer at about ten seconds in. : )

Special thanks go to YouTube user TheDermotjr for the answer to my problems.

*NOTE* If none of this worked for you. The government in some countries restrict what you can do on the internet. You probably already know this if you live in one of these countries. I don't know any way around that unfortunate form of censorship yet.
