I've bought a small amount of ALA today after looking at this company today.
Whilst homeopen sounds great (and ambitious) in theory, it really is about usability of the app and website that will determine the success of ALA. I was a software developer in the past and unfortunately I have seen way too many high potential apps that were poorly designed and implemented to have attract customers.
You can google Stuart Kidd and you will find his LinkedIn profile. Whilst he did have some background on software development I have no idea how good he is, and how talented his team of people are. So for anyone who buys ALA, you are relying on the quality of the people who worked and develop this software. It is possible that there will be budget blowouts as software would need to be reworked due to defects, but top developers would be able to cut down defects significantly very quickly. Average developers would spend a lot more time and money to resolve any issues.
But then again, currently ALA is very cheap so I guess there is limited downside to this on financial point of view.
