    But what did Applera end up paying for their license? Everyone knows GTG ran out of money to litigate with and was faced with the choice of agreeing to applera's terms or fighting on (for up to 2 more years) and be bankrupted. Imagine how Genzyme must now feel after agreeing to pay GTG more than $US18 million total for a license and now finding out Applera paid peanuts for theirs for being recalcitrant.
