    Well Nickyjames It's obvious that WE did not do all those horrible things you mention in your post. Fortunately WE were'nt there. Historically they happened as occurred under colonialism and various imperialisms in different places in the world. Thats history. Its the legacy of that history and what prevails now that is the issue.

    Agree with you that solutions for now is what is needed. Many steps have already been taken but still lots more to go. Its not easy but there is cause for optimism imo. Gradually health and prospects will continue to improve for indigenous Australians. There are many good people both indigenous and others who will continue to work towards improvements that will diminish or eliminate existing problems. To go into them here would need much more than a post. The focus on which day to celebrate is just a side issue imo.
