RIP Daniel. You deserved to have a chance at life. Whatever the government can do to stop these murderous thugs should be done ASAP.
As the parent of three sons aged 21,23 and 24 it's a constant worry when they head to a major city. The youngest one went to Brisbane for New Years and we reminded him to be on guard and stay away from trouble. As he was driving via the Darling Downs to pick up his mates on the way they got the same worried advice from his mates families as well.
It's a strange society we have now. Maybe time to have earlier closing times for the pubs and clubs. Mandatory 25 year terms for this crime causing death may help but I suspect they are so far off their face it would make little difference to their decision making.
