I have no idea as there does't seem to be much of a pattern about it.
The first chart shows the influence of shorting on share price movement.
Its pretty easy to see where the short percentage is greater than 15% then there is a much greater likelihood of the price falling. So in this instance the price responds to shorting.
The second chart shows where the main shorting takes place.
