It would depend on their strategic objectives. UXC might be a good play if they're after something with international connections. If they're looking for a tighter national focus then somebody like ASG Group might be in their sights.
So I won't be giving much weight to a possible Telstra take-over into my investment decisions about UXC until something more definite surfaces.
On a side-note (not UXC-related really): If Telstra do acquire an IT business, it would be bad news for Telstra shareholders (not me, fortunately). Telstra have shown that they're incapable of managing an IT services business. Whatever they buy would be milked, starved of investment, stifled creatively. It would stagnate, lose market share and value.
That's what happened when they acquired KAZ. That's what will happen if they do it again.
