After a luxurious time on the "Love Boat", passengers complained that they didn't get what they paid for. Whilst the photoed passengers (see below) with their designer luggage obviously enjoyed the buffet and the fully equipped gym, there were rumblings and dissatisfaction with the crew. A source said, "the passengers complained that they didn't get what they paid for at the Indonesian Travel Centre. Apparently, the passengers were furious when notified that they would not receive a new mobile phone, free phone calls, an allowance and open travel for family members on future cruises". Some couldn't understand that the Doc was not a dentist and others demanded Captain Stubing sink the ship! Upon disembarking, passengers (photo below) were bewildered that the ship returned to its port of call and vented their frustration on Gopher and Julie McCoy. When passengers returned to the Indonesian Travel Centre, the shop had closed down and moved to different premises.
To the passengers disgust, they were notified that there are trips to Australia "free of charge" with all of the benefits, but they were shocked to hear that they had to wait in line.
