The big problem is, if you are only monitoring the 'short sell' data, it will not provide much of a clue to what is on their agenda.
Take just the last three weeks of trade, did the 'short sell' data that one could have collected and analysed provide any clue as to what was being planned (to their benefit) ?
How many shares in LYC does one need to own to become a substantial holder, is it five percent ?
Over these three weeks LYC was imo fed two bouts of their supply, 07/08 and 15/16Jan, all for a total traded amount over these four days of about 70m shares. Not much volume and I guess not detectable on any change of substantial interest alerts and also not spotted by any 'short sell' data. The point is, they don't need to move much to move the market at their most favourable time.
