Mr Gordon,
Professor Behe was the guy that got completely smashed at the Dover Pennsylvania, school trial. (this was the bid deal trial where a local school board got overrun by creationists and they demanded that ID be taught in science classes. A few parents objected and the trial took place) This was also where Behe came to public attention but for all the wrong reasons.
I've read the complete transcript of the judges decision. Happy to email it to anyone. Just pop your email address in a reply.
The decision in the trial was a loss for 'creationism in schools' Especially given that the judge was known to have conservative right-leaning views and was expected to be more sympathetic to Christian views.
Back to Behe. On the stand, as an 'expert' witness, he spoke at length on irreducible complexity using the immune system and blood clotting as example. When physically presented with about 58 peer reviewed journals that spoke to the processes of the evolution of these systems, he dismissed them as "irrelevant" or "insufficient"
Upon further examination in the witness box, he finally admitted that he hadn't actually read them. Whoops. Major embarrassment for the home team.
i really recommend that you read the trial transcript. The deception, lies, bullying and complete disregard for the truth shown by the ID and IC proponents will either make you laugh or be ashamed. (Depending on your initial position)
Google 'dover school trial' will get you started.....
