Good question AJ. I think think the old board knew they discovered something quite significant and did not want anyone else to know, including its JV partners (ERM I believe suspected but could do nothing about it)
CM boasted the two discoveries were the largest in WA from the Jurassic period.
As estimated reserve figures were not provided to the market, just "filled to spill point" which of course could mean anything eg; filled but other factors need to be considered etc etc. And the market was and is non the wiser.
For the old EGO the 3D seismic together with previous seismics would have provided them with great big arrows to the mother lodes (note plural).
The RPS survey also gave some indication about the extent of the various sands across the whole of EP389....they are huge.
DYOR but I think we are all correct in thinking the B sands are the mother lodes.
