    Hoots i am surprised you ask that....lol.

    At open, if it opens at say $2 which was the closing SP previous day and it trades till noon to whatever price then goes into pre open and announces the biggest gusher of all time and the SP shoots up to $5 straight away it will not show a gap on the daily chart.

    Its the same day.
